Kristin Avner (Staszek) is originally from Palm Springs, CA and now resides out of the Los Angeles & Palm Springs, CA area. Kristin has been dancing in the American Smooth style for the past 20+ years and has trained and competed all over the United States with many world class coaches. Previous world renown professional training has included former U.S. Champion: Toni Redpath, Michael Mead, Olga Foraponova, David Hamilton, Ron Montez, Teresa Shirey, Wendy Johnson and many more to credit. Kristin's primary home for training has taken place from judge Mary Murphy's Champion Ballroom Academy in San Diego, CA from the hit TV Show "So You Think You Can Dance" on FOX.
In 2000 Kristin had the privilege of performing the "WALTZ" in front of a live audience with her High School Marching Band "The Spirit of the Sands" to the production of "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Westminster Hall in London, England. In 2007 Kristin had the honor of being chosen to dance in the preshow for the "Dancing With the Stars" LIVE TOUR during the San Diego, CA tour date. Not only has she had the chance of being able to perform in many fantastic shows with ballroom's finest, she hopes to have continued success and to be a part of many more amazing opportunities in the future.
Kristin holds titles in both the Youth, Pre-Champ, and BYU divisions for the United States. She defeated the nation in 2004 by winning the Open Amateur American Smooth Championship title for the United States in both NDCA and USABDA divisions. In addition to American Smooth, she is trained in American Rhythm and all other styles of ballroom.
Dancing is her passion and being able to teach what she loves is most rewarding at the end of the day♥
